At the Oklahoma Foundation for Limb Preservation, we believe that access to quality healthcare should never be a barrier to living a full and independent life. Our mission is deeply personal—rooted in advocacy, compassion, and a relentless drive to prevent unnecessary limb loss. As a mother of a special needs daughter, I understand firsthand the impact mobility has on quality of life. Through years of fighting for patient access to rehabilitation and seeing the devastatingly high amputation rates in the Native American community due to limited care options, it became clear that change was needed. This foundation exists to break down systemic barriers, provide education, and deliver life-saving interventions to preserve limbs and improve lives
The Oklahoma Foundation for Limb Preservation was born out of a passion for advocacy and a commitment to changing the landscape of limb care in Oklahoma. Years of experience in patient advocacy, combined with firsthand knowledge of the struggles individuals face in accessing proper vascular and rehabilitative care, fueled the creation of this nonprofit.
The journey began with fighting for inpatient rehabilitation services to help patients maintain their independence. It continued with the development of a state-of-the-art vascular facility dedicated to saving limbs through cutting-edge care. However, the gaps in access—especially among underserved populations, including the Native American community—remained too significant to ignore. Recognizing the urgent need for early detection, intervention, and education, the foundation was established to provide screenings, resources, and support to those at the highest risk of limb loss.
Today, the Oklahoma Foundation for Limb Preservation is dedicated to ensuring that no one loses a limb due to preventable conditions. Through outreach programs, education, and direct patient assistance, we are working to transform healthcare access and outcomes for the people of Oklahoma.
Our mission is to reduce preventable limb loss through education, early intervention, and access to treatment and resources. By collaborating with medical professionals, engaging in community outreach, and advocating for patients, we strive to increase awareness, support advancements in limb preservation, and promote innovative treatments. Our goal is to save limbs and transform lives by ensuring individuals receive the care they need to prevent unnecessary amputations.
To create a future where Oklahomans enjoy improved quality of life through the elimination of preventable limb loss, supported by accessible care, widespread awareness, and community empowerment.
